That judgment has to wait for the album cover/booklet, I think.

^And, as far as I know, there isn't a native word in Japanese for "carnation" anyways, so I tend to agree.

I disagree. Loan words are accepted into a language but are still intrinsically foreign. Katakana exists for that entire reason...not all Japanese speakers can identify the origin, there are far too many loan words in Japanese, so I get your point...but Ringo isn't most people. She writes many songs in English with the help of a translator, studied abroad, and has often talked about how she strives to reclaim a modern image of japanese music free of western influence, often giving obtuse readings and classical twists to her lyrics.

^^^ True, but it seems like a matter of degree sometimes.

カーネーション won't turn heads in Japan, won't get weird glances. A word like エンジョイ, though, seems very foreign.

you'd be surprised. Shy is an example that sticks out in my mind, a lot of japanese speakers use shy and it sounds very foreign, but a lot of people have no idea its an english term, the amount of times I've used it and had people comment on my grasp of difficult japanese words has been ridiculous.

They added more info about the single. It'll be released on November 2, and will include three songs in total. Also, the title track is orchestrated.

It's not really a surprise though, is it? Considering the nature of the song (no pun intended)
