This.
And yeah, Little James is better. I have no idea why Gem stayed. I thought he and Noel were soul mates...and Andy alone is better than this. I don't understand why anyone is doing this besides Liam, of course, who is a moron. I cannot wait for Noel's album. It cannot come soon enough, and better be on its way. Sans Oasis, an all Noel album could be the best thing ever (or a tired Neil Young kinda deal. Which is better than "Bring the Light" at least.)

I have become everything I once hated q_q I'm rocking out to this, I think Jeff Mangum is a genius, I am considering buying some Pavement and Arcade Fire Something is happening to me! Turn! Turn away! EDIT: strikethrough EDIT 2: Okay the edit was a joke. EDIT 3: In response to the Zombie Oasis video. They sure try to make Andy and Gem look like Noel.

The beginning of the new Calle 13 albums sounds a fuck of a lot like parts of Sanmon Gossip. Streaming here (so embarrassing--NPR):
http://www.npr.org/2010/11/19/131441...os-que-quieran (Of course the fact they are probably using TV theme cheese primarily for comic effect must give one pause in making that comparison.) Last edited by Superficial Fan : 2010.11.19 at 05:24 PM. |

First visit in a very long time, just want to tell anyone I've talked to here that I miss your wonderful taste in music. I'm feeling pretty unenthusiastic about Ringo these days but I don't want to say "Goodbye" to these forums even if it gets worse.
I will probably do most posting in this thread and folder because alot of you have way closer taste in music to me than almost anyone I meet. Working on making music a lot recently and computer is trash so haven't had a chance to listen to much but the last few months have been all Of Montreal - False Priest Waa Wei (thanks EMF) UA - ATTA The Doors Nujabes Janelle Monae (thanks EMF) friends bands Blackstar that Dirty Projectors single on repeat the song 'My Life' by Fishmans on repeat and.....Autotune the News http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72A9CoDvSvM |

Calle 13
The search engine is telling me that Calle 13 have never been mentioned here before, so although I assume many of you will already be familiar with them, I thought I'd mention they aren't in the same category as some of the "trashy" (not that I'd really put it that way), or at any rate, more genre-bound and typical Latin dance stuff I post occasionally. They rode the reggaeton wave, but they are more accurately described by vague terms like "Latin alternative" (though I guess you could consider them a very very expansive undie hip-hop band). I don't personally think that makes them better than performers working squarely within a genre and making kick ass dance music (like Wisin y Yandel), but I think Calle 13 would be of far more interest to the average EM member than W&Y or some club-oriented mambo merengue like Fuego. Here's something from their debut:

Currently listening to...
Second tune sounds a little like Hanne Hukkelberg, in a less cute way. Which reminds me, what's she up to nowadays?
