Which band member's departure would have the biggest impact on TJ?

Musically. I'm not sure whether I'm including Shiina Ringo.

Kameda. I tend to blame him for most of the band's "campy" sound even when he's not the one composing. Izawa and Ukigumo have written better songs without Kameda, but I can't think of anything Kameda has written that has been better than his Jihen work. He's a great bass player, but he has too goofy of an impact on everybody else.

On a serious side, I would say Kameda. Apart from being a constant presence and an old friend for Ringo, I think he has far more years of experience than the other three and he's possibly the eldest out of them, so maybe they mostly look up to him - I always had the feeling that he's quite the reliable one, both as a musician and as a person. But I might be totally wrong, either.

Hata

Not only does a good drummer form the spine of the entire band, but in the live performances, Hata is the moodmaker. His energy keeps the band afloat even during slow songs. His versatility as a drummer (able to shift from jazz drumming, to rock drumming, etc) is essential to the group's sound.

And yes, Hata is totally my favorite non-Shiina member.

the most talented musicians in a band to me are always a skilled drummer and pianist. you need some really well wired brain to have both hands do independent things. guitar is pretty simple by comparison as only the fretting hand is doing the difficult stuff.
