Reimport vs Sunny...vs Sanmon Gossip

Reimport feels bolder and fresher because she's not collaborating with the same old artists. Shiina Ringo is still daring (but it sounds like the poppiest album). Sunny seems more uniquely Shiina Ringo in that the mishmash of styles is natural and doesn't feel like she's switching gears per track. But it's nothing we haven't heard before.

Sanmon Gossip is weird because it's as jarring as you would expect the follow-up to to KZK to be, but kind of loses itself in its sassiness and flights of fancy. Even its 'deepest' moments feel like Ringo is doing drag.

Which one's your favourite?

-Better songs
-Better production/mastering
-Better flow
-Better aesthetics
-Better/more original theme
-Totally new for her at that time
-Definable era
-Her absolutely most sensual period
-Feels like a full album
-Shun PV.

Reimports pretty good.
You all know how I feel about Sunny. Burn it with fire!

Money exchanged in Ringo's musical service is simply for time and companionship. Anything else I may or may not feel, is a matter of personal choice and personal preference between me and Ringo, two consenting adults of legal age.

I love playing devil's advocate and making ridiculous statements like "I love Shiina's demo tapes more than MM," but there's like...zero way I can say anything but Sanmon Gossip here. Ditto everything DG said.

I mean, Reimports isn't awful but I'd rather listen to either Ukina or a hypothetical playlist of all the Reimports originals (I think I'm still missing a few of the originals in my library...? Has anyone done this yet?) -- I turn on Reimports and if I can hear myself below the tinnitus-inducing brass of Shuen no Onna and I think "wow, I don't think there's a single way she could've done this worse than PUFFY."

I'm not a Sunny hater by any stretch but with its poor production and the fact that it's very obviously not a beginning-to-end cohesive album, I have trouble endorsing it.

Sanmon Gossip is just...amazing. Also, I still think that was the pinnacle of her voice as a "pure," trained vocalist. Some of the notes she hits in her head register there are just beautiful.
