I can't say what happened to the listing, but thanks for reminding me that Wakusei Abnormal existed.

All Nick Cave albums to be reissued on heavyweight vinyl over the next 6 months or so, starting on my Bday... 27th October.

While I own a few already, it will be nice to fill gaps. Bring on Boatmans Call!

The Grates have a new album coming out next month and it's on their own label.

Can't fucking wait.

Also can't wait for the new Suiyobi no Campanella release. Which is tomorrow officially. Their February mini album "Cinema Jack" was irresistible- especially the track '義経' (though admittedly it took me a while to realise this :-p). If the new one can reach anywhere near that level of quality we're in for a real treat.

Well, the new Kinoko Teikoku is a bit of a disappointment.

So... normal. You could stick any band's name on it and I wouldn't think any different. There's nothing wrong with it on a standard rock level, but after the previous albums, KT seem to have lost all sense of identity.

They still have some of their signature sound in it, but I agree for the most part. There are some good tracks on the album, but overall it's a wash compared to all their previous work. I'm extremely disappointed because they were one of my favorite acts for a while, now they went ahead and did this. What's worse is that the majority of fans are eating it up, so they'll think this a good thing for them. I suspect it had something to do with them getting popular all the sudden, so they watered down their sound.

After the Long Goodbye EP this direction makes no sense.

20141203 Seiko Oomori - Brainwashing

I've relisted most of the releases from this year that interested me.

My favourites are these:

1. Goto Mariko - Kowareta Hako ni Rinakkusu 10/10
2. Shiina Ringo - Sunny 9/10
3. Shiina Ringo - Reimportation 8.5/10
4. Cocco - Plan C 7.5/10
5. Morning Musume - 14 Shou ~The Message~ 7.5/10

I think I'm done with my albums of the year 2014.

Bunch of other releases are somewhat interesting and have gems (Kayoko Yoshizawa's Kekeke for example), but most of them give me the seen-this-heard-that feeling - it's mostly rehash. Biggest disappointment is the Blonde Redhead's Barragan, too soft and boring. Kazu's voice alone cannot save it. Also, Kyary's 3rd album is mediocre at best. Yuki's album is a snorefest, but so are her other solo albums, it's expected.

So some further info on the new Grates album (I feel I may be the only person who gives a damn but, still...)

-Comes out on November 28 (in digital format, physical format via their own label "Death Valley"'s website- LP and CD are available in December)
-Is called "Dream Team"
-Going to be the feature album on Australian alternative radio station Triple J next week
-Lead in single is called "Holiday Home"
-Everything about it seems so damn Australian that I better get the Vegemite out. I mean, just look at the single cover:

Album means tour. If it means having to skip someone's wedding, I'm skipping it :-p

And I have been told by someone who heard one of the first plays on the radio that it's nothing like Secret Rituals but more like the first two albums. Hmm... I can dig but I seriously hope there's SOME Secret Rituals kind of stuff left.

Else oh well, it's my Aussie rock album of the year anyway. To be honest I don't think I can think of anything else I've listened to that's Australian fro 2014.
