Is Ukigumo out of Tokyo Jihen?

I think that Izawa is a bigger threat than Ukigumo when it comes to songwriting. Ukigumo wrote the better VARIETY songs. The only Izawa song I like is Kaban no whatever, and that's only for the first few lines of the song (Then it goes rapidly downhill)

okay, japan doesn't celebrate april fool's day. kronekodow sends out each month's newsletter on the first of that month, so it just happens to be coincidence that april 1st is the day that this mail arrives. I'm sure the interview was held in advance so there is almost no chance of Ringo being like hmm lets punk all those silly fans. I'm going on the record and saying that I'm totally serious about this entire affair, not a an april's fools joke, although that would have been a cool idea (sadly I did not think of it)

not really. check this out: http://www.sarukoen.com/archives/200..._fools_day.htm　april's fools is something that is usually enjoyed by those into anime and gaming, bu to the larger japanese public, it remains largely unknown/uncelebrated. as you will see from what that guy wrote, it is the start of the new fiscal year most importantly, so many japanese families are starting new jobs and getting a head start, its more serious. so I doubt Ringo would pull something like that over the head's of her fans. also, here is the entire interview with Ringo. Ｑ　スタッフロールの際に流れた「丸の内サディスティック」が忘れられ
ないという方も多数いらっしゃいました。この"丸サディ"のは、浮雲
さんとの多重コーラスだったのでしょうか。

「有り難うございます。私との不仲説が浮上して沈まない、 あの浮雲で
す。」

Ｑ　ナレーションを担当した黒猫屋の若旦那らしきお子様を会場で見かけ
たという方も何人かいらっしゃるようですが、若旦那は、(生)林檎博
について、どのような感想を述べられていましたか。

「とくになにも。あれ以来罪罰を熱唱するようになったのと、巻き舌が
本当に迫力を増してきたのと、少なからず何らかの影響は見て取れる。」

・芸術選奨文部科学大臣新人賞受賞について

Ｑ　芸術選奨 の文部科学大臣新人賞の受賞という、非常に有難い賞を賜り
ました。率直なご感想をお聞かせください。

「もっと本腰入れてやりなさいよと、お叱り戴いているものと思い、び
くびくします。」

Ｑ　その芸術選奨表彰式に出席されたようですね。名だたるお歴々の中、
どのようなご気分で式に臨まれましたか。

「少なくとも井上（雄彦）先生とわたしは、いまいち主旨を飲み込めず、
終始不謹慎でした。」

Ｑ　マボロシのニューアルバム（「マボロシのシ」）には、「あまいやま
い feat.椎名林檎」で参加されていますが、非常に格好いい仕上がり
となっています。参加されていかがでしたか。

「こっちがMummy-D大好きだったのに、いきなりオファー下さったから張
り切った。」

Ｑ　5月27日に正式販売となる10周年記念パンフ「Ringo BoOK」、先に実施
した林檎班先行予約受付では、４千人以上の申込者がいらっしゃいま
した。内容的にとてつもないボリュームとなりそうな気配ですが、ご
自身としては仕上がりについての期待感はいかばかりのものでしょう
か。

「赤ちゃんのときからの素材がすごいですよね。まるで全ての資料がこ
れのためだったみたい。」

Ｑ　5月27日に発売となるニューシングル「ありあまる富」。いち早く聴き

[インタビュー後記]
百花繚乱のごとき、華やかな回答をたくさんもらえました。「余興(仮)」の
歌詞は、正式なものがいつ発表されるのかも楽しみですし、浮雲氏との不仲
説が巷間噂されていたというのも意外でした。「Ringo BoOK」には、林檎女
史の幼少時の写真もあるという重要証言も引き出せましたし、なにより新曲
「ありあまる富」についてのヒントもいただけました。さまざまな要素が、
すべて楽しみな春の椎名林檎周辺であります。

Ok, I'll trust Kirk and his arguments about the start of the fiscal year and japanese families starting new jobs and... What the hell does that have to do with anything?
Miss Namiko Abe may disagree with Kirk on some issues there. And Philip Lenssen as well.
I'd say an online newsletter that is exclusive for a number of fans and not the entire scope of japanese citizens could indeed have some kind of prank on it. What if Ringo did a little joke about Ukigumo on April 1st? Is that too out of character?

Anyway, regardless of the April Fools thing, the newsletter doesn't say anything about "Ukigumo out of Tokyo Jihen". It only mentions some kind of rumoured divergence between Ringo and Ukigumo, of which the implications are pretty much vague and unclear. Maybe that was the point of her answer anyway. If you think it's not possible to do this kind of thing as an April Fools joke, I say it's not possible to present such an important matter with so unclear and vague arguments that only garner fan debate and speculation.

So this is either a) Ringo's way of saying "me so funny" or b) her answer to the question does not imply that Ukigumo is out of the band. Unlike your post title.
