Rivers Cuomo's wife is Japanese and she recommended that he cover this particular song. And he liked it when he heard it, so they covered it.

Also BoA hasn't done anything new Korean in like 3 years. Mainly because she's doing so well in Japan.

I doubt she's honored also, maybe a little flattered. She's much bigger than Weezer. She's huge in Asia and even pretty well known in the Chinese market. I know she's only like 21 or something but she's been in the Asian music industry for like 7 years already. She proabably didn't even know who the hell Weezer was unless someone explained it to her. And there are more Asians in the world than Americans/Europeans. A LOT more.

Plus Weezer's washed up, everyone in the "Western world" loves the Blue Album, but that's really as far as their extent. I still like some of their stuff, but that cover was absolute horror in my opinion.
