^ That's so awesome . Raising kids without that language barrier is great, and also they could learn so much about the language since they are so young.

Actually, the older two (7 and 9) will complain when I play too much Japanese music because they can't understand the words. But then I just put my iPod on shuffle for them and songs come up in Spanish, Portugese, Arabic, various African languages, etc.

^ Hmm, that reminds me, I actually converted my 14 and 12 year old cousins without even trying . One of them had come in while I was watching JCHI, and he got hooked to C'mon lets go! and Dynamite . I found out because when they recently visited, one of them was singing dynamite, and he told me that his older brother, the 12 year old, had been watching it on youtube .
The 14 year old got hooked on Variety. He had heard Keshou Naoshi and commented that she had a viewtiful voice, and then I let him listen to other songs on ADULT which he loved. Later, after Variety was released, I let him listen to that and he's been on that until now . |

It's fun brainwashing the young.
It cracks me up when I hear my kids singing along to Japanese songs, which is quite often. I'll hear them do it without music on too, and I can tell something is stuck in their heads. The other thing that really cracked me up this morning was that my 6-year-old had his own names for each and every video on the HK DVD he requested. I was so amused I had to write them down. Here they are out of order--see if you know which songs he was talking about: Hamster Color Black heads Crazy head Street animal Guitar rock Fishy Crazy lady Fat lady Balloons Love Cat and mouse Dumb Dumb (yeah, two had the same name, and not a flattering one at that) |

On my answering machine last night, from a friend:
"So I turned up the Ringo you send me loud this morning, and Summer [her 7 year-old daughter] came bounding down the stairs, saying "Mommy! What's that GREAT MUSIC?!" Shiina Ringo -- beloved by 6 and 7 year olds the world around. They should put "Identity" on Kidz Bop vol 9. |

OSCA is on Cathay Pacific's inflight Japanese Radio channel.
I think they previously had Superstar on it too.
