Seems more like a nighty than a proper dress. I very much prefer one of her more luxurious dresses. But ok.
Music wise i liked a lot the show as a whole. But I still don't understand their post-DO stage antics. Shiina is too much in the front with the guitar and bass players faraway, out of sight, almost glued to Hata's drum kit. lol This Ukigumo guy sometimes gets on my nerves, standing static strumming that ugly egg-shaped guitar like an old folk playing country music. Times when he comes to do a solo in the spotlight, he seems so bored. Performances I liked post-DO era was mostly in those that Shiina shone by herself. But the show was good. Would buy a DVD, yes.

I also thought that Ringo's singing was off-key sometimes and it looked like she didn't care, but I never thought anyone looked disinterested. I think it seemed she didn't care in the sense that they were just enjoying herself, but not in the sense that she just didn't want to be there.
Also, I'm extremely disappointed in the part during Boutomin where Ringo says the last "Strike-up", and Uki doesn't start wailing on the guiitar like in the studio ver. WTF? That part sounded dead. |

And Uki's guitars are more like lollipops... I'm glad to see Ringo and Izawa played proper guitars this time. |

I was casually listening to this show on my iPod while working, when all of a sudden I paused with the start of a new song and thought, "Why are they playing 'On Broadway'?" I never noticed how the bass line from Boutomin is an exact copy of "On Broadway" until hearing it live.

'Boutomin' one of my favorite tracks on Variety. As those polls indicated, most of the people on this forum liked 'Variety' just fine, it's just the minority were the loudest about disliking it. Exactly like any other kind of politics.
totally unrelated for EmilScherbe posted here as it's a high traffic thread: what was the name of the person who did Shiina's digital editing on SS/KZK/Ringo Catalogue? & your comment about him being the purple eel on the cover of HF, were you happily improvising or was that from an interview? I just burned the video (courtesy of ParisCombo) to a DVD and will be watching it on my 42" HDTV as soon as possible.
Can't wait! |

Does everybody have like me a problem of sync 'image/sound on Pinocchio ?
The sound seems to have been edited... it's not the same as in the other songs. Anyway, I'm just watching the whole show and... forget about all we could have said, it's ENORMOUS ! They just rule. |
