I got into Jpop/rock December 2001. I'd joined boards and things like that where I learned a lot about a lot of artists. It was a month of two before STEM came out and everyone was raving about how she's a genius and how they all missed her.
I'd then visit the fanlistings of said artists and saw what information I could find on them. And on the Ringo fanlisting they had all of her songs uploaded. The first song I got was "Sakana" (it sounded cool, even without knowing it means "fish".), and I fell in love. I've been avidly following her releases ever since. |

I've been listening to Sakana a lot lately. I think it's a good introduction song for people who normally listen to rock music and want something with a twist.
welcome! |

New here~
The first time I heard Shiina, was Remote Controller, and I hated it. Later I found a blog entry introducing her and praising Stem (in '04). So I downloaded it but was too impatient to wait til it finished so I listened to what had downloaded so far and was blown awayyy. I absolutely love strings, but really, I was so tired of listening to formulated pop and rock at this point that this song was just such a much needed breathe of fresh air. Nowadays I'm pretty much gay for her. I can go on and on about my favs from her solo albums (as well as Adult) and ugh I was such a huge fan of Heisei Fuzoku, you have no idea. On a side note, Soretsu has been a long time favorite. That Domestic Virgin Line performance? Needlesstosay I wish it was a dvd. Last edited by kurarisa : 2009.03.25 at 09:37 PM. |

Kind of an accident. I was dragged to some japanese stores in Picadilly Circus, and I saw Watashi to Houden, and was heavily intrigued by the cover. This was right after my birthday, so I had enough money to just get up and decide to buy it. Which I did, haha. I'll be honest-I wasn't particularly interested. This was during exam period, so I was essentially working whilst listening, so I didn't have time to get a chance to appreciate it. It wasn't until a few months ago that I stumbled upon OSCA, and something about it struck me as brilliant. Picked up Variety, and wiki'd the band some more-only to discover TJ's vocalist was SR.xD I youtube'd Watashi to Houden on youtube, found the la salle de bain video, and fell in instant love. I've now pretty much got the all of SR's albums+b-sides, as well as TJ's. So much love<3
As for finding the forum, it suddenly occured to me that SR was fantastic live, and I wanted to know more about SR fan's opinions on her tours, so I could decide which to watch first. Quite glad I found you guys, the topics are all superb.
