Yeah, I don't think a love for KSK equates to a love for MM/SS. Putting EMF/Shiina politics aside for a moment, I'd have recommended Adult (if Curious Thing hadn't already heard it) as it's like...vanilla KSK or something.
I recommend Shuraba single and Ringo no Uta |

Yeah, I've been listening to Tokyo Jihen for about a year and have heard all of their albums/singles. It was just -- I don't know, ignorance? -- that I hadn't listened to any of Shiina's solo material. I think "vanilla KSK" is a perfect way to describe Adult.

Well, depending upon which release he's been listening to, he could've skipped to Ichijiku no Hana, or he could've skipped to Mayonaka wa Junketsu.

Skipping those tracks should be a must: the silence right after the end of Souretsu is a precious moment just to ruin it with such impunity. I'm struggling to think of something more off-putting than that.
By the way, which releases include Ichijiku no Hana and Mayonaka wa Junketsu as additional tracks? I only know of STEM as a bonus track in the MoRA release. |

Oops. I meant STEM. In MoRA, Mayonaka wa Junketsu got tacked onto the end of Shouso Strip instead.
Ichijiku no Hana is a bonus track on the KZK vinyl. Back then, the song was all mysterious and obscure because the only CD it existed on, was a copy-protected bonus CD for Baishou Ecstasy. It was also on Seteiki Healing Vol. 3, but back then hardly anyone knew how to rip DVDs (especially not the audio on its own), so in the file-sharing world it was still a very obscure song for awhile.

Ichijiku no Hana is at the end of the Vinyl Release
For MoRA, Mayonaka is after Shouso Strip, and Stem is after KZK |

My listening order. Morphine and Mayonaka Junketsu, then KZK, then Adult, then Shouso Strip, then Variety, then Muzai Moratorium, then Kyouiku.

Listened chronologically.
Logic: First album is better 75% of the time.
