Ahh people hating on a half decent song and me thinking wtf, it's not that bad. Just like the good ol days. Are things finally returning to normal? Only time will tell.

The song lacks strong hook but i don't see any problem with that.

Does anybody else think this sounds a lot like her very early career? The arrangement is super late 90s/early 2000s Jpop (check out Kameda's productions from that era, and you'd see this would fit right in), and reminds me of her demo tapes. The verse melody also reminds me of stuff she'd have written in the 90s, and the dissonant minor scale chorus melody is evocative of the chorus in "mokuren no cream" (which is, in turn, similar melodically to the chorus in "honnou").
I also don't think Shibasaki's voice had effects put on it, per se (at least no more than everybody else's pitch/whatever is "corrected" these days). What sounds like an "effect" on her voice is simply that they layered multiple recordings of her vocals. This sounds unusual for a verse melody, but is often used in choruses and bridges. It is often meant to "thicken" the vocals, which would make sense because Shibasaki has a pretty thin tone. The layering sounds similar to the effect you get from chorus pedals on guitars.

It does sound vocally doubled but there's something kind odd about it. Not sure exactly what it is, but it reminds me of the split second of dissonance one hears in certain circumstances as a singer's voice drifts off pitch before the auto-tune is triggered.

Have the setlists had any changes/different songs in them so far? Anyone have any idea?

My god. She needs to change that back. That is what I was looking forward to the most when I go see her.

Both are good songs, IMHO. It would be nice to see her doing some of the earlier stuff, like Kyogenshou, but Seishun no Matataki is pretty good too.
Here's hoping that the live DVD contains performances from a couple of different shows, like some of her previous DVDs...
