What you don't think China's girls look under the age of 16? I do, but I also think Shawn Johnson of the USA looks underage.
Gymnastics scoring is complete BS. There's no way that Korean girl should have gotten gold on the vault when she landed out of bounds twice and there's no way the Chinese girl deserved a bronze for landing on her knees. The German girl should have gotten gold and the American should have gotten bronze. I understand the Korean and Chinese girls tried harder vaults, but you should only be rewarded if you actually hit the damn thing.

Anyway, I don't care much. I just like the way the "article" was writen. They should have wrote "Please, please, explode in angry racist prejudice and start a flamewar in the comments" instead of "You decide and tell us what you think."
I don't know much about chinese people, but I know that their japanese neighboors are short in terms of worldwide medium height, and most 20 year girls look like they could have 15 were they portuguese or american, for example. According to wikipedia, Shawn is 16, so I guess you mean that she *looks* underage but *isn't*? The same may happen with chinese girls, no? |

Yes, I have no reason to believe the Chinese are cheating because the girls look underage. It's always been my impression that Asian girls often look younger than they are until they hit around the 30 mark. Then they seem to age rapidly. However, I can be suspicious because one of the Chinese girls was listed as being 13 by the Xinhua News Agency.

I guess there's always bound to happen stuff like that at the Olympics, just like dopping. Last edited by ShinjiPG : 2008.08.19 at 01:28 PM. |

Gymnastics scorings have been ridiculous. Alicia Sacramone got completely robbed of a medal. I agree with Maou on this. Hong Un Jong and Cheng Fei didn't do very well but I felt like Oksana Chusovitina killed out there. Easily should have gotten gold. Same deal with Nastia Liukin in uneven high bars. She definitely should have gotten gold. It was ridiculous that they had a tie and then gave it to He Kexin since she clearly made more errors. What a completely screwed up judging system... Ugh, and that Australian judge.... She deducted a full point from Liukin's score! What the hell??? *shakes fists angrily*

Olympic thoughts...
Yes, those young Chinese are going to get busted. It's the "we Chinese are the best" olympics, and that is their unilateral goal. At least we don't have steroid-dosed East Germans. Right now we are happy to have the most medals. China is kicking butt with maximum gold, but will anybody remember or care in a month? Didn't think so. |

Man, I didn't get to watch volleyball. I watched some track and field, ping pong, weight lifting, ribbon dancing, and badminton, but nothing beat the Korea VS Cuba baseball game! I only caught the latter half but it was so intense and I'm so proud of Korea!!
I watched the closing ceremony and it was really pretty and interesting. I guess it's good that I missed the opening ceremony? o_o
