Loved the new song. It is so uplifting and has a groovy feeling. Unlike a lot of people here, I don't have problems with songs sounding like "Jackson Five". I liked specially the vocal harmonies and the guitar solo at the end.
It is on my repeat list for the last few days, along with 3min. Gaman did not spot a place between my favorites, though. Guess I'm not as alternative as you guys.

i'm not so sure about the Jackson comparisons though. There arent any Jackson 5 songs that riff rock like that. If it had a groove going on, then it would sound Jackson 5-ish. I think its because Ringo is convincingly singing in a way soulful black vocalists were known to sing in the late 60's/70's, or what I call American Idol audition style. hey, Beyonce Ringo is real! seriously though, I never understood the term "alternative" for music. alternative to what, pop(ular) music? that happens to be pretty much every other subgenre you can think to cloistered together. then, what is the difference between rock and alternative rock? you play electric cellos instead of guitars (ala rasputina?) on a whole I just think its kind of amusing how we as people choose to pick and label these things. |

I'm utterly hopeless with music genres. I'm unable to categorise most things.
And all those subgenres...Post-Nu-Olde-Rabbitcore...ugh Oh, I hope the album is more Gaman than 3min. I've said this before, but post-adult Phase 2 remind me of a very, very lite version of Mr.Bungle, who do the wacky, cartoony genre-hopping rollercoastery music but take a more experimental route than pop (Their final album, California, was a lot more listener-friendly, though) Last edited by Scribble R : 2010.01.29 at 01:29 PM. |
