Mayumi Kojima "Poltergeist". I found out about her over the Summer. Great artist with a lot of jazz fused into her music, plus she has a pleasant voice.

I just discovered this young woman tonight, and I came here not really to share the song thought I like it- but to show deadgrandma Hajime! It's great seeing him still active. I'm patiently waiting for Mariko to release something.

I see real potential in her, my friend shared her with me saying she has a similar sound to Shiina, I agree after hearing Waraninngyouuri No Shoujo.
I'm not completely sold on her voice but I really like her falsetto.

I liked the song, but her voice is weak. This is especially evident at around 2:13 where her voice completely cracks. Maybe she was having a bad night? I'll need to see more of her live.

She's released 2 EPs (one of which juuust came out, containing the song I linked to) and 2 singles. I believe that is all. One of the singles was exclusive to Tower Records and everything else is a little hard to come by. Aside from a few live videos, there isn't a lot about her out there right now. A lot of her older videos and pages about her were taken down in the past year or 2, for whatever reason. I suspect the lack of info will be changing in the near future due to her new release actually getting at least a tiny amount of promotion.

If you liked the two songs posted on this page, I do recommend you try to check out any of her stuff you can find, as it's all more or less along these lines.

Apparently at least one member of Midori had a hand in her newest EP, to some capacity.
